How the Engine Works

Adapter Guru runs on pure, transparent electrical engineering rules computed directly inside your browser. No black-box guesses, no tracking cookies, and zero server lag.

The 4 Sequential Validation Steps

01

Step 1: Voltage Strict Equivalence (ΔV = 0)

The engine compares Adapter Voltage against Device Voltage. If they differ, the check immediately flags an Incompatible State (Overvoltage or Undervoltage).

02

Step 2: Current Capacity (I_adapter ≥ I_device)

Current units are normalized to Amperes. If the adapter amperage is equal or greater, it passes with safety headroom notes. If lower, a Thermal Overload Warning is triggered.

03

Step 3: Polarity Alignment (⊕ vs ⊖)

Center Positive (⊕) and Center Negative (⊖) are compared. An inverted polarity match generates an immediate Electrical Hazard Warning.

04

Step 4: DC Barrel Plug Dimensions

Checks millimeter dimensions (OD × ID) and specifically alerts users to the loose 5.5×2.1mm vs 5.5×2.5mm center pin trap.
